Zoom schedule for week starting 8th June

Monday 1:30pm-3pm “Turning Surviving into Thriving” facilitated by Joanna Williams.

Feeling good and bad

Is it possible to appreciate the present while grieving the life you used to have (or could have had)? Can you feel sad about what you’ve lost, frustrated by day-to-day challenges, but also feel hopeful about the future? In this zoom session we’ll talk about the conflicted nature of grief after sight loss and how two opposing feelings can both be true at once.

“Marvellous Me Mondays” continues at 6pm with Organisational Coaching with Caroline Dove.

Everyday Ease: Simple Ways to Make Life Work for You

Caroline Dove is a writer, facilitator and communication intermediary working with complex workplace situations. Her work explores neurodiversity, disability, identity and belonging. Through her book coming this year, on Invisible Grit, Caroline brings together lived reflection, professional insight and a commitment to compassionate conversations, collaboration and finding workable solutions.

This six-week programme offers a welcoming and supportive space for people living with sight loss to explore simple ways of making everyday life feel easier and more manageable.

Eye Matter recognises everyone’s journey is different. This programme is about sharing ideas, learning from each other, and finding what works for you – so that daily life feels more in your control and less of a struggle.

How the Sessions Work

Each session is 60 minutes on Zoom and follows a simple, relaxed format:

A warm welcome and chance to check in

There is no pressure – just an opportunity to take part in a way that feels right for participants.

Tuesday 6pm Fun and friendly social followed by mindfulness with Laura Brodie from Adventures in Albinism

Resilience is about learning how to meet life’s challenges with greater steadiness, awareness, and self-compassion.

In this session, we will explore Dr. Rick Hanson’s practical approach to resilience and positive neuroplasticity, including his H.E.A.L. process for helping positive experiences “stick” in the brain. Through mindfulness practices, reflection, and open discussion, participants will learn simple ways to strengthen inner resources such as calm, confidence, connection, and emotional balance in everyday life.

The session will include guided mindfulness practices, practical tools for working with stress and difficult emotions, and small everyday exercises that help cultivate resilience over time.
