On Tuesday 30th June Ziad Sinno joined Eye Matter for another exclusive Zoom concert.
30th June 2026, Carrie wrote, “I enjoyed Ziad’s concert very much! What a tallented man. I enjoyed the music and appreciated him providing each song with an explanation of their meaning or why they were written that way. I hope we hear him again sometime.”
Ziad is a Lebanese musician who originally moved to England to train as a physiotherapist in 1985. He performed as part of the Inner Vision Orchestra’s contribution to the closing ceremony for the London 2012 Olympicgames. Ziad is still a member of the Inner Vision Orchestra, founded in 2012 by Baluji Shrivastav and Linda Shanson. The orchestra was created to provide professional opportunities for blind and partially sighted musicians while raising awareness of the challenges they face in building their musical careers. Members of the orchestra have performed in many countries and at renowned festivals, including before a global audience of millions at the Closing Ceremony of the 2012 Summer Paralympics.
Performing solo, at our Zoom concert, Ziad proved a versatile musician, playing the oud, Arabic violin, and keyboards. Rachel, Eye Matter’s choir mistress, appreciated his amazing vocal range and style. Switching effortlessly from Arabic, Lebanese and back to English, yet always explaining the meaning of each song. One track was a cover of Lebanese singer Sammy Clarke. Throughout the performance Eye Matter was able to interact with him and show their appreciation.
