Saturday 31st May 2025.
Our 6th Eye Matter Singers performance was hailed as a great success by around 40 people who attended “Sing into Spring”, in Kings Cross, London.
Rachel (Eye Matter’s choir mistress) said, “I feel so lucky to have found the Eye Matter Singers when I found Eye Matter a couple of years ago. Since then I have continued to sing, laugh, grow in confidence and self belief. I am now so privileged to be running these sessions for my friends and fellow members. We also work with superb blind musical accompanists, encourage each other to perform solos and challenge ourselves to learn interesting songs which is the icing on the cake.! Thank you everyone who came to support us and I look forward to welcoming even more members when we start again in September.”
Vivienne commented, ”I found the concert such a lovely experience in which I became totally immersed in. Congratulations to the choir. Thank you.”
Paula said, ”I think the choir is a great example of the Eye Matter ethos. You don’t have to be an expert to have a great time and take part. Really enjoyed it. Like the chap (Daniel) who asked everyone to join in and I liked the interaction between Sarah, Rachel and Suzie.”
Suzie (Eye Matter’s founder), “I thought Saturday’s concert was a huge triumph considering after 12 online rehearsals and only one rehearsal earlier that day. We had a fabulous turnout of over 40 guests and such a party atmosphere where everybody was talking to each other whilst celebrating Eye Matter’s choir. I was impressed with the amount of solo performances we had this year and the reactions from the audience. Everybody I spoke to had amazing things to say about what Eye Matter has done for them and how it continues to improve their lives. I was very pleased to launch our new mental health campaign and hope this will ensure future support for members. Thank you to everybody who supported us, especially our sighted guides and to our amazing members, who make every event so very special.”
Belinda exclaimed, “This was my first time seeing the choir in action. It was wonderful. Great turnout and a really lovely atmosphere.” (Note from Eye Matter: we were so grateful for receiving your video clips).
Jay said, “The music was very well organised, and the support from the volunteers was excellent. It was a lot of fun. I am also grateful to all the volunteer administrators and members of Eye Matter for making the day so special.”
Kevin concluded, “What an extraordinary concert So much talent, so much heart – thank you for this unforgettable experience.”
