Joanna Williams

Delivering: Monthly Cathartic Writing Session, twice monthly ‘Surviving to Thriving’ grief counselling group on Zoom and three times a year in-person ‘Surviving to Thriving sessions based in London.  She is also the author of our Mental Health and well being blog.

Joanna Williams is a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, published author, workshop leader and mentor. Joanna has a private therapy practice and has specialised in bereavement care since 2018. She worked for five years as Head of Counselling for Professional Help and GriefChat; as part of this role, she developed training courses on many aspects of grief and loss. She is interested in the ways in which loss impacts all areas of life, and in finding healthy ways to live alongside the reality of loss.

Joanna has published two novels (under the name Joanna Barnard) and also runs writing for wellbeing workshops, both online and in person. She is originally from the North West but now lives in Surrey with her family.
