Bounce Notes September 2025

Wednesday, 10th September 2025 11am via Zoom.

Suzie welcomed everyone into the Zoom room and invited questions and recommendations.

Question 1. How do I get rid of the Meta AI message that has appeared in my What’s App chats?

Answer and recommendations: it is best to archive the Meta AI. Message which is easily done by swiping down on the message and selecting “archive”. If you delete the Meta AI message, it’s likely that you will just be sent another.

In contrast, other participants found the Meta AI feature really useful as you can message it a question and use it as another AI search.

Question 2.  What other AI apps and tools would people recommend?

Recommendations: the “Gemini” app is a great AI tool that can be downloaded for free, although a paid version offers more features. One benefit of Gemini in comparison to other apps such as “Seeing AI”, is that you can use its video feature in real time to describe your surroundings and use it to locate items which you may have lost.

“PI” is also a very useful app that is available for both Apple and Android devices.

Chat GPT is also great for tidying up text, checking for spelling mistakes and repetition

Question 7. How do I record and send a WhatsApp voice note?

Recommendations: hold the voice note button, slide up to lock recording three finger double tap turns the speech off. You are then free to record your message for as long as you like. When you have finished, two finger double tap to stop the recording three finger double tap to turn the speech back on, review and send your message when ready.

Question 8. Are there any tips for dictating into messages, notes etc.

recommendations: the dictate button is found in the bottom right of the keyboard. If you are in a text box or search bar, you can also use two finger double tap to begin dictation.

Question 9. How much would it cost to move from android to iPhone?

Recommendations: talk to your provider about the various options, keeping in mind what you would like your phone to do, how large you would like it to be i.e. would you like it to fit in your pocket or are you interested in the quality of the camera, the size of the screen etc. many people don’t buy their phone outright but have it as part of a contract with monthly payments which enables them to upgrade after two years.  If possible, visit a shop or ask friends so that you can gauge what size phone might work best for you.

Other recommendations:

1. You can easily change the default six-digit passcode to a four-digit passcode by visiting Settings/Face ID and passcode. For added security, download the Passwords app.

2. Scott’s iPhone update: iOS 26 has been rolled out. and will work for most phones 11 and newer, but not all of the functions will work/this one is only good for an iPhone 15 Pro and newer, which is unfortunate but is fantastic for those of us that own the 15 pro and newer

I might suggest waiting to update to the new iOS 26, but those who have their updates on automatic will have probably already downloaded it! Hopefully there won’t be too many bugs, and they have been worked out earlier with the beta issue.

There are four new phones rolling out with the iPhone 17 series, those who like the old smaller phones are out of luck; although, the new iPhone 17 air is wafer, thin and very light, but has a normal screen size, iPhone 17, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max Will feature a lot of new technology and a lot more camera for those of us that use our cameras!

The new air pro threes have a great new feature which will allow automatic translation right into the AirPod, which will come out in the language you choose so if you were talking Chinese to me, I will be able to understand it as it will translate into English!

The cost of the new air pro series has not gone up, which is nice too, most of the phones are remaining at the same cost, except for the new 17 air, but all of these can be searched online iOS 26 has been rolled out. and will work for most phones 11 and newer, but not all of the functions will work/this one is only good for an iPhone 15 Pro and newer, which is unfortunate but is fantastic for those of us that own the 15 pro and newer
