Bekah Few

Currently Becka  is training as an integrative counsellor, offering a warm, safe space where people can explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace.  She explains, “My approach is grounded in empathy, presence, and authenticity, with a focus on building a trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship.”

Becka has around 20 years of experience working in mental health and wellbeing, often supporting individuals through significant changes in their lives. “I am currently retraining as an integrative therapist to better support the clients I work with, and I was encouraged to apply for this opportunity by my counselling tutors.”

Although she doesn’t have sight-loss herself,  her  father lives with Myasthenia gravis, affecting his vision and led to visual impairment, which she supported him through as a young carer.  She admits to recognising and understanding the impact of sight-loss plays in an individual’s life,  “the impact on Dad’s identity and mental  health, has deeply shaped my understanding and empathy.”

Becka  draws on a range of approaches including person-centred, psychodynamic, and solution-focused techniques, tailoring her work to suit each individual.   “I am passionate about the transformative potential of therapy and believe in creating a space where people feel truly heard, understood, and supported.”

She adds, “I was particularly drawn to this project as it offers the opportunity to combine both my professional and lived experience to support those navigating sight-loss. I believe that having specialist, accessible support is vital, and that being part of a community where experiences can be shared can have a powerful and positive impact on wellbeing.”
