Eye Matter outings meet at a London station, where you will be met by a guide if you haven’t brought your own, and taken to the venue. You will be guided back to the station after the event and handed over to station staff as necessary for further assistance.
We do theatre, museums, music venues, comedy and sporting activities and are always open to new suggestions.

Ready to challenge and stimulate your brain and lift your heart?
Neurobics is a fun, interactive brain fitness session designed to boost wellbeing through games and mindful challenges. Using simple, enjoyable brain exercises, we’ll spark new neural connections and tap into the brain’s natural ability to grow and adapt – known as neuroplasticity.
Through playful activities and challenges, you’ll work on memory, reaction speed, focus, concentration and creative “outside the box” thinking – all while supporting stress management, better sleep and long-term cognitive health.
Brain fitness is for everyone. By giving your brain what it needs, you can help manage, postpone or even reduce cognitive decline – and most importantly, have fun while doing it!

Featuring more than 300 items, many on display for the first time, this is the largest and most comprehensive exhibition of the late Queen’s fashion ever mounted.
Alongside clothing, jewellery, hats, shoes and accessories, explore never-before-seen design sketches, fabric samples and handwritten correspondence that reveal the behind-the-scenes process of dressing the most famous woman in the world and shed new light on the late Queen’s close involvement in the creation of her wardrobe.
Highlights include her christening robe, bridesmaid dress, wedding dress, Coronation dress and the ensemble worn for the wedding of Princess Margaret.

The Hunterian Museum for our second private audio described tour

Meet and Greet at Holborn Station at 10am
The Hunterian Museum, named after the 18th century surgeon and anatomist John Hunter (1728-1793), includes the display of over 2,000 anatomical preparations from Hunter’s original collection, alongside instruments, equipment, models, paintings and archive material, which trace the history of surgery from ancient times to the latest robot-assisted operations. The Museum includes England’s largest public display of human anatomy.
Visit the Hunterian Museum and through an audio-described tour find out about the life and work of the 18th-century surgeon and anatomist John Hunter, who the museum is named after. The tour will focus on objects which show different aspects of Hunter’s quest to understand the life force of all living things, from the smallest plants to the largest creatures on earth.
Timings:
10.30am: Arrive
10:45am – 12pm: Audio described tour of the Hunterian Museum
12pm to 1pm: Lunch in the Temporary Exhibition space. Eye Matter are welcome to bring their own food or buy food from the café.
1pm: Handling session with objects.
1:45pm-2pm: Going back to the station
Please note, The Hunterian Museum contains human remains, including fetuses. Viewing human remains can evoke powerful emotions which some visitors can understandably find difficult.

Meet and greet at Canary Wharf Station, by the barriers of the West exit, under the glass dome entrance at 12:30pm
Please bring a picnic, this event will start with lunch, followed by the tour
London Museum Docklands highlights tour
This tour covers the history of London’s docks, the East End and the people who have lived and worked here for over two centuries.
Walking through the historic building that holds our museum, you’ll discover how unused marshland nearby was transformed into the towering Canary Wharf.
Your guide will take you through the grim details of working on the docks, the ins and outs of the “sailortowns” and the heroic efforts of those defending the docks during the war – and much more.
We’re also delighted that we will have an object handling session
The tour and handling session will finish at 3:30pm, when we will guide you back to the station.
